The Three Rivers Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD), in partnership with the King and Queen County Public Library, invites all residents to an important informational session about the Virginia Conservation Assistance Program (VCAP).
This is your opportunity to learn about practical, sustainable solutions for managing water runoff while making your yard healthier and more beautiful—with the potential for financial support to make it happen!
What VCAP Can Do For Your Property
The Virginia Conservation Assistance Program (VCAP) is a voluntary reimbursement program that offers technical assistance and financial incentives to help property owners implement stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs). These practices are designed to improve water quality and manage runoff right in your own yard.
Join us to learn about installing and funding BMPs like:
- Rain Gardens: Beautiful, planted depressions that capture and filter stormwater runoff.
- Conservation Landscaping: Using native plants to reduce water use and maintenance.
- Permeable Pavement: Alternatives to traditional hard surfaces that allow water to soak into the ground.
- Erosion Control: Techniques to stabilize slopes and prevent valuable topsoil loss.
