Last week, 60 students from across Virginia attended the 48th Youth Conservation Camp at Virginia Tech. Throughout the week, they learned about conservation through beekeeping demonstrations, fish shocking with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, forestry hikes, tours of Virginia Tech and Kentland Dairy Farm, soil conservation demonstrations with NRCS, hiking the Cascades, and more.

Three Rivers SWCD was proud to be part of this year’s camp by sponsoring a local student to attend. Our Education and Outreach Coordinator, Grace, also spent the week as a camp counselor.
