Participants of the Clean Essex Project were recognized in December at Tappahannock’s Winterfest. The Clean Essex Project holds two litter cleanups throughout the year (Fall and Spring) and invites local Essex citizens to participate in picking up litter along public spaces and roadways. Participants compete against one another for a chance to win prize money that is donated by local businesses and sponsors throughout Essex County. This year, the third place prize was $200, second place was $300, and first place was $500. 

Three Rivers Soil and Water Conservation District has helped support the Clean Essex Project since Spring of 2023 and we are excited for future opportunities to help promote a cleaner Essex County!
