The 5th grade science classes consisting of around 75 students from JCIS in Essex took a fieldtrip to Westmoreland State Park on Tuesday, March 12th. The field trip was hosted by Friends of the Rappahannock and Three Rivers SWCD participated in a station along with Westmoreland State Park. There were four stations total, consisting of a water quality testing station at Fossil Beach, an erosion station at the WSP Discovery Center, a nature walk, and a reduce, reuse, recycle station near the visitor’s center. The students had a great time learning more about how to keep the beautiful places that surround their county clean and looking for sharks teeth on Fossil Beach!
