On Monday, March 11th, Hanover-Caroline SWCD, Friends of the Rappahannock, Friends of Dragon Run,
and Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay hosted a MWEE activity day so educators could “See Through the
Eyes of the Student” through these activities. This event was a part of the Project W2ONDER grant
through Hanover-Caroline SWCD that promotes Essex, Middlesex, and Caroline County Districts to create an Environmental Literacy Plan for the public schools in their areas. These documents are living, which mean they can be edited as things progress within the schools, and aim to be plans for sustainable, community-based planning with the goal of encouraging MWEEs for all students. Our education and outreach coordinator attended and participated in activities such as a nature walk, water quality testing, and an administrative discussion between superintendents from all three counties.
