From June 23rd to 26th, six Essex County students explored their local watershed during our first-ever half-day summer camp, made possible by the Chesapeake Bay License Plate Fund!
Organized by our Education and Outreach Coordinator, Grace Daughtrey, the camp offered exciting, hands-on experiences in nature and conservation.
With support from Friends of the Rappahannock, Friends of the Refuge, and Essex Public Schools, campers:
Kayaked Cat Point Creek
Visited the Essex Museum
Played at the Tappahannock Splash Pad
Fished and hiked the Hutchinson Unit
Explored nature at the Wilna Unit
A big thank you to everyone who helped make this amazing week a success!
