Transition of Directors

January 24, 2024

As of January 1st, 2024, Keith Balderson is retiring as a Director from the Three Rivers Soil and Water Conservation District Board. He started as an Appointed Extension Agent for Essex County in December of 1989, filling the unexpired term of Randy Shank. Over his 29 years of service, Keith has held the positions of Secretary and Treasurer along with being on the Finance, Educational, and Technical Review Committees. He has also served as the Chairman of the Ag Committee for over 25 years. Throughout the years, Keith has also helped with outreach/educational events such as Agricultural Awareness Days, Science SOL Review Days, Farm Safety Days, Envirothons, and field days. We would like to thank him for his years of service and the dedication to the Three Rivers SWCD.

As one director retires, a new one enters! We would like to welcome AJ Brooks of Brooks Farm to the Three Rivers Soil and Water Conservation District board. AJ is our new elected director from Essex County. Brooks Farm, a family operation spanning generations, is a traditional row crop operation of corn and soybeans.

We would also like to welcome Willie Upshaw as an associate director on the Three Rivers Board! He is from King William County and works on a traditional row crop farm with his family.
